well done to the 3rd team on yesterdays win!! big thanks to jimmy for taking the forest squad for the day and organising the opposition. Inspired decision to play big Karlos up front mate. And Karl - wow!!! Perfect hatrick big man -right,left,head!! Ur 2nd and 3rd were crackers! And wee Byersy with a left foot screamer too!! Kris i think u meant it- no way was it a cross. Thats why u hit the bar 10 minutes later with a very similar effort - very george best! haha. And to all the other lads who havnt really been featuring this season (whether because of work or not being selected) - great to see you all playing.Im sure you keep performing like that and there may be a bit of movement between the teams. Quite a few decent players on the opposition side too so hopefully Jimmy will be able to get a few of them signed up as well and in theory the 3rds team shouldnt be short of players and will be a viable, sustainable option for next season. Happy days - great for the club to have added strength and depth in terms of players and resources.

Well done the wee thirds! Any chance you could post the team line-up? Hopefully we can keep it running.

Newtown Forest 3rds win their first ever game with a 4-2 friendly win over a Ballysillan Select. Big Karl with a perfect hattrick & Byers!

The plan will be to arrange for a game at least once a month over the next few months and I'm currently looking into the potential for a League for the team next season. Not sure if this will be a Sunday or Saturday but if we can keep the numbers up for the team over the next few months to show its viable. For it to be a Saturday team we will need to bring more players into the club for next season to allow for player's having to work or being unavailable so a Sunday League may suit better to get it up and running. Thanks again to all today who made themselves available and to Jimmy for taking the team and arranging the opposition!

Just a reminder guys the 3rd team friendly is going ahead this Sunday with a 2pm Kickoff at Billy Neill if you'd prefer to miss the Manc Derby and come and watch.
